The Steamboat Dance Theatre supports all local dance ensembles, programs, events and dance establishments. If you have a dance program that you would like added to this site, please contact us today.

Perry Mansfield School of Performing Arts- SDT Partner Studio

Perry-Mansfield is the oldest continuously operating performing arts school and camp in the country that attracts 250 students (ages 7 through adult professional students) from across the country, and showcases over twenty performances each summer. With the nation’s best faculty, staff and students, Perry-Mansfield is the place where innovation and imagination are expressed in theatre, musical theatre, and dance.

During the fall, winter and spring The Academy at Perry-Mansfield offers dance and theatre classes for youth through adults after school, evenings, and weekends. Bella Movement is a boutique dance school pleased to offer quality, affordable, and non-competitive dance instruction. Dance is a form of education and should not be taken lightly. Working with each individual, whether taking dance class for fun, recreation, exercise or a professional career, proper training must be the first concern. This includes correct stretching, conditioning, technique, and showmanship. We educate our students mentally as well as physically, with the goal of building self-esteem and confidence. Offering Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop for children ages 3.5 years old and up.
Classes are offered in two semesters: Fall Semester (August-December) and Spring Semester (January-May) with a recital in early May.

For adults Bella Movement offers fitness programs by instructors trained with master certifications in BASI pilates, Bachlor’s Degree in Kinesiology, Advanced TRX Systems ,Master Trainer in Barre, and personal training.

Class Description: Scott offers partner dance lessons in the Latin, Ballroom, Swing, West Coast Swing, and Tango dances. If you don’t know where to begin I will help point you in the right direction. Whether you want to get ready for a wedding, dance event, or you just want to try something new, he’ll help get you a program to get you there. Private lessons, group classes, and parties available.

Bio: Scott Goodhart started his teaching career with Arthur Murray Dance Studios. In his fourth year teaching he was ranked in Arthur Murray’s top ten teachers in the world. In 2014 he moved to May I Have This Dance, voted Chicago’s Best Dance Studio 2015. He’s been fortunate to have worked with some of the best coaches in the world and now specializes in teaching a wide variety of dance styles to people with a large range of skill levels. He’s experienced in teaching one-on-one, couples, and group classes.

Mandy Quinones- Partner Instructor & Co-Founder Yampa Valley Vixens

Mandy Quinones, a Steamboat local, discovered her love for dance as an adult with Steamboat Dance Theatre and has been lighting up the stage for 9 years. With a passion for choreography and production, she’s danced with multiple companies like Forty106 and Hokunani Hula. Co-founding the Yampa Valley Vixens was a thrilling new chapter! Mandy thrives on teaching hip-hop to fresh faces (watch for pop-up classes!) and loves spinning dark, compelling tales through her choreography.

The Yampa Valley Vixens strive to create a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment for performers that is diverse, inclusive, and accessible and to provide performance opportunities for artistic acts throughout the Yampa Valley and beyond.

Emma Sharp- SDT Partner Instructor

Emma Sharp is a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer. She has been dancing for 15 years, and teaching for 3 years. In 2021-2023, Emma taught at The Children’s Ballet and Movement Company (CBM) in Massachusetts, teaching ballet and contemporary classes, as well as performing each year in CBM’s Nutcracker and Spring Shows. Emma also worked at CBM’s summer camp for two summers.

This past summer Emma taught a dance and art summer camp at Steamboat Academy of Music and Dance, teaching dance classes, arts and crafts, and other fun activities for the campers.

This year Emma is excited to be choreographing for Steamboat Dance Theater, teaching at Steamboat Academy of Music and Dance, and working with other dancers and dance teachers in Steamboat.

As a teacher, Emma’s goal is to make high quality dance education fun and interesting for kids and teens. Her classes focus on healthy and clean technique, combined with the upbeat and energetic class environment that her students love.
