About
Steamboat Dance Theatre
Our mission
To engage, educate, and enrich the communities of the Yampa Valley through dance and movement.

Our vision
A vibrant culture of dance in the Yampa Valley, where anyone who wants to dance is able to do so.
Did you know? Steamboat Dance Theatre is a 501c3 non-profit that has been a network, pillar, and resource for studios, instructors, and dance enthusiasts in the Yampa Valley for over 50 years! SDT aims to make dance affordable and accessible to anyone in the community who wants to experience dance. By working with local studios and community organizations, we are able to keep dance alive and thriving in our small town, and increase quality of life for its residents.

Annual Concert
The Annual Community Dance Concert invites community members to produce, choreograph, and perform in a dance concert. The concert features dancers of all skill sets and a wide variety of dance styles. Everyone is welcome to audition, regardless of skill level or experience. The Concert is a well-attended community event that sells out each year.

Dance Scholarships
The Scholarship Program is designed to support the needs of dance students who demonstrate financial need, to allow them to take dance classes. This program offers 5 different types of scholarships depending on need level, ranging from youth to adult classes, workshops, continuing education, and summer. Community Enrichment & Engagement Programs
The Community Enrichment & Engagement Programs encompasses everything from master dance classes, affordable community dance classes, dance on film at the Library to bringing dance programming into local non-profits, World Dance in Schools and other Youth Programming, and Dance Vitality, which supports wellness, mental health, athletic performance, and the aging population. These programs are designed to increase an appreciation of dance for dancers and dance enthusiasts alike, and get more people moving!
